Bahra College of Law Patiala successfully organized a court visit on April 24, 2023 for the students of B.A.LLB. - 5 year course. The visit included educational lecturers on various legal topics by the esteemed advocates of the bar. It also included visit to ADR centre, Legal Aid Centre and Courtrooms. It has provided a great experience to the students.
Celebrated the success of Alumnus of BCL
On November 2, 2023 Bahra College of Law congratulated and successfully celebrated the success of its alumnus Ms. Priyanka for being appointed as a JMIC. Mr. Ramandeep Singh, Assistant Professor (Law) briefed the gathering about various avenues in legal field. The event was concluded successfully.
QUIZ COMPETITION
Bahra College of Law conducted a quiz competition on various topics related to law like Contract Law, Constitutional Law, Law of Torts and also covering various aspects of General Knowledge including Punjab GK. It was an Inter Batch Competition held on November 20, 2023. The Competition was concluded successfully.
Law Day Celebrations
Bahra College of Law celebrated “National Law Day” or “Constitution Day” on November 24, 2023. Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950. On this day, Mrs. Baljinder Kaur (Vice-Principal),Ms. Rupali Sharma (Asst. Professor Law), Vinayak, Anmol And Manikant (Students of BALLB-5 year course) gave presentations on various topics related to Indian Constitution.
World’s AIDS Day
Bahra College of Law conducted an Awareness Programme on December 1, 2023 to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS.
Lohri Function
Lohri is the first of India’s rich and diverse melange of festivals to be celebrated with great pomp and energy across different regions of the country in the new calendar year. In North India, and predominantly Punjab, this harvesting festival begins the year’s festivities with a tribute to the farmers for their hard toil and labor that enables us to live prosperous lives. This is the harvest season for Punjabi farmers when they begin to reap the bounty of their harvest of the Rabi crops – mainly wheat. This period marks the end of the winter solstice, after which we can expect warmer and longer days. Bahra College of Law successfully celebrated this festival on January 13, 2024.
Basant Panchmi Celebrations
To Mark the beginning of spring season, Bahra College of Law celebrated the festival of Basant Panchmi with full enthusiasm on February 14, 2024. The event included Poster Making Competition on various topics related to Law like Climate Change and Environment Protection, Women Rights etc. and also Kite Flying Competition. The event concluded successfully.
Voting Awareness Campaign
Bahra College of Law conducted an “Awareness Campaign” on “Right to Vote” on March 5, 2024 at Village Bhedpura. Ms. Prabhjot Kaur (Asst. Prof. Social Sciences) and Mr. Raman Sharma (Asst. Prof. Law) conducted a Rally along with the students of B.A.LLB.- 5 Year Course to raise awareness regarding this right to vote which is considered as a constitutional right.
International Women’s Day Celebration
Bahra College of Law successfully celebrated International Women’s Day 2024 on the theme of “Inspire Inclusion” on March 7, 2024. ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2024
Bahra College of Law and Bahra Institute of Pharmacy under the aegis of Shri Bala Ji Charitable and
Literary Society (Regd.) Patiala successfully organized its annual sports meet on March 15, 2024 from
9.00 am to 4.00 pm. It was an Inter College Competition. Students from both the colleges BCL and BIP
participated in the event with full enthusiasm.
Legal Aid Seminar in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Patiala
Shedding light on the crucial topic of “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace” at Legal Aid Seminar held on March 22, 2024. Bahra College of Law in collaboration with DLSA Patiala organised a Legal Aid Seminar on this pressing issue and spreaded awareness on various legal and practical aspects of “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace”. In this event, Legal aid panelists Adv Deepak Jindal , Adv. Harleen kaur and Vice -Principal Baljinder kaur has delivered compelling presentation which highlighted multifaceted nature of sexual harrasment. The event was concluded successfully.
Holi Celebrations
Holi, often called the "festival of colors," is a vibrant and joyful celebration that marks spring’s arrival, the triumph of good over evil, and the legendary love between Radha and Krishna. Bahra College of Law celebrated this festival of colours on March 21, 2024. The Celebrations concluded successfully with full enthusiasm among students and faculty members.
Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path
Bahra College of Law, Patiala, with the help of Student Organising Committee of BCL, celebrated Vaisakhi with a serene rendition of the Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path held on April 9, 2024, in the Hall, the event brought together students, faculty, and guests to partake in the spiritual experience. The recitation of the holy verses filled the atmosphere with reverence and tranquility. Attendees embraced the occasion with prayers for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony, marking the significance of Vaisakhi and honoring the rich cultural heritage of the Sikh community.
Open Jail Nabha Visit
Bahra College of Law organised an educational visit to Open Jail Nabha for the students of B.A.LLB. – 5 year course on April 1, 2024. This visit was an essential part of the curriculum as it provided the students with the knowledge of Jail Procedures. BCL students; Patron of the institution Sardar Pritam Singh Johal; Mrs Shailza Sharma (Asst. Prof. Law) and Ms. Rupali Sharma (Asst. Prof. Law) interacted with the inmates. The inmates at the jail receive rs 40 per day for the work done by them, one of the inmate said. This Jail included the convicts who were imprisoned for life. BCL coordinated the visit successfully.
Educational Visit to Supreme Court of India
The Students of Bahra college of law have visited the SUPREME COURT in New Delhi on 2nd
May,2024 and has gained the incredible experience during this recent visit. The opportunity to
witness the workings of our nation's highest court was truly remarkable. From the majestic
architecture to the solemn atmosphere, every moment was filled with a sense of reverence and
importance. Our students had the chance to observe oral arguments, gaining insight into the
legal process and witnessing the dedication and expertise of the justices and attorneys involved.
Additionally, touring the building and learning about its history added depth to their
understanding of the judiciary's role in our democracy. Ms. Rupali Sharma (Asst. Prof. Law), Ms.
Reena (Asst. Prof. Law), Dr. Ketanpreet Kaur (Asst. Prof. Economics) and Ms. Prabhjot Kaur
(Asst. Prof. Social Sciences) coordinated the visit successfully under the guidance of Vice-
Principal Ms. Baljinder Kaur, Campus Director Dr. Sanjiv Kumar and Patron of the institution Sr.
Pritam Singh Johal (Retd. PCS).
Legal Awareness Seminar
Bahra College of Law organized a Legal Awareness Seminar on the topic of “Cyber Crimes
Among Teenagers” in Sri Aurobindo International School Patiala for the students of 12 th
Standard on May 7, 2024. Ms. Rupali Sharma (Asst. Prof. Law) began the seminar by
introduction and meaning of cyber crimes and thereafter explaining the examples,
remedies regarding this and also gave some effective suggestions to prevent this crime. Ms.
Reena (Asst. Prof. Law) and students of B.A.LLB.- 5 year course Riya Rani, Kanav, Shagan
and Himanshu also coordinated the seminar. The seminar was conducted successfully.
